The Half Way Point...It's All Downhill From Here!!

Maria..And Three of the Boys

This is Maria, whom we had met last year. This year, she is still struggling to survive. We took some gift bags and some dispensas (supplimentry food packages) to her. Only her three youngest boys were home at the time of our visit. Maria also has a problem with her shoulder, so she has trouble trying to keep the children and the house clean. We took some clothes, quilts and blankets to her as well. We have arranged with John Nash to take her dispensas when we leave here in March. She needs daily prayer as well as whatever else we can do for her. This is but one of the many needy families here in Alamos. We sometimes feel like it is a drop of water in a bucket, but at least we can make a difference in a few lives by showing them God's agape love and compassion. As the old saying goes "but for the grace of God, go I" . Maria is one that lets us see how we should thank Him for what He has given to us, not long for the things that we do not have.
